Don Chao Poo is located in Ampur Phana, Amnatchoeleon Thailand. It's approximately
200 rai of wildlife reserve. Don Chao Poo is alos refer to as Don Ring or "Monkey Village".
The wild life reserve is visited by thousand each year. It's also host important events
in Thailand holiday. Don Chao Poo has a long and rich history.
The founder of Ampur Phana is Chao Poo. He left Laos state of Champasack because of conflict with the neighboring states. At the time of King Narasuan the Great of Thailand he established what is now Ampur Phana. Chao Poo is known for his love of the forest. His ancient palace once sat what is now Don Chao Poo have long since disappear. People respect Chao Poo as patrons saint of the forest of Phana and the protector of the monkey forest. |
